Worst Kitemare

My kitemare stories aren't that scary, but two stories come to mind.  In 2005, my Naish Aero hot launched, flipping me upside down and flying me off the shore over 20 feet of sharp rocks and thankfully into deep water before dropping me on my head.  Anything shorter than that would have been the end for me. The other incident was summer of 2007 when my bridle wrapped the wingtip of my Waroo Pro in 30+mph winds while in Hood River.  The kite started death looping and pulling me through the largest swell on the river while I tried to flag the kite.  I managed to get the kite to me and kept all of my fingers attached.  That river isn't very forgiving with the strong current/waves/insane wind/and enormous barges and I'm not sure that I could made it to shore in those conditions without the kite to float on.  It ended up being the scariest self rescue of my life.
